Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Tori Kelly will kick off a North American headline tour on Oct. 18 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta in support of her new Capitol Records album, Hiding Place, produced by gospel legend Kirk Franklin.
The dates include such venues as Warner Theatre in Washington, DC (Oct. 28) and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (Nov. 8) as well as several historic houses of worship, including New York City’s Riverside Church (Oct. 30) and the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles (Nov. 16-17). Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 14.
Hiding Place will be released this Friday, a passion project recorded primarily at Kirk Franklin’s studio just outside Dallas. Half of the songs were penned solely by Franklin, while the remaining tracks came from a collaboration between the two artists – the first time that the multi-Grammy winner had ever co-written in a decades-long career that’s seen his songs performed by legends like Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston.
Kelly’s last headline tour was in 2016, with boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar including May 21 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, which sold ut 5,600 tickets and grossed $184,665, and two dates at the Fox Theatre in Oakland May 18-19, which sold 5,650 tickets and grossed $183,820.
