The comedian/actor/writer/rapper Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, reportedly injured his foot during a performance in Dallas and has delayed a number of dates on his “This Is America” tour.
Gambino hurt himself while performing at American Airlines Center Sept. 23, according to TMZ, though how the injury occurred was unclear.
A representative of his management company, Wolf & Rothstein, wrote on Twitter that the tour has been postponed but not canceled.
“My guy played through the pain, but has to sit some dates out. Back before the years over,” Fam Rothstein wrote.
The Forum in Inglewood has already announced that tonight’s scheduled show has indeed been postponed, but tickets will be honored at a rescheduled date. Pollstar has reached out to WME, Childish Gambino’s booking agency, to confirm whether all upcoming dates are postponed, but hadn’t heard back at press time.
It was also unclear if Childish Gambino would be able to perform as a headliner at Austin City Limits Oct. 7 and Oct. 14. Pollstar reached out to promoter C3 Presents.
The tour was scheduled to run several more weeks with Rae Sremmurd and Vince Staples on selected dates. The tour was marketed as Glover’s last trek as Childish Gambino.
Childish Gambino performed at Madison Square Garden Arena Sept. 14-15 with Rae Sremmurd and grossed $2.56 million on 27,678 tickets.
