Rapper Young Greatness Shot Dead In New Orleans

Young Greatness was reportedly killed outside of a Waffle House in New Orleans early Oct. 29. He was 34 years old.

Local police confirmed to WWL-TV the rapper was found dead with a single gun shot wound when officers arrived on the scene. Police also released a photo of a “person of interest” in the case. The victim’s vehicle was reportedly stolen from the crime scene, but has since been recovered.

Born Theodore Jones, the rapper Young Greatness was known throughout the regional South. Pollstar had substantial reports of Young Greatness’s time opening for Kevin Gates throughout the South in 2016, a slot which put him in front of sold out crowds at every stop. He was signed to Cash Money / Universal, after a few years on the powerhouse label Quality Control.

Young Greatness leaves behind a 14-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son, according to WWL.
