The headliners of the first C2C editions in Germany and Amsterdam
Country 2 Country is expanding into two new European markets, Germany and the Netherlands, in March.
The first C2C Germany is scheduled to take place at AEG’s brand new 4,500-capacity Verti Music Hall in Berlin, Germany, March 2-3. Tickets for the first German Country 2 Country are now on sale on Eventim. The lineup for the premiere features Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, Cam, Hunter Hayes as well as Drake White & The Big Fire.
The Dutch C2C premiere in Amsterdam will take place on one day, March 4, at Live Nation’s 6,000 capacity venue AFAS Live. The lineup is similar, with Keith Urban headlining, followed by Brett Eldredge and Drake White & The Big Fire.
C2C is promoted by Greenhouse Talent in Amsterdam, and Semmel Concerts in Germany.
According to a statement from Semmel Concerts, the Nexflix series “Nashville,” and superstars such as Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake have contributed country music’s mass appeal in Germany.
The Dutch market has been a touring market for Country and Americana artists for some time now, as Stevie Freeman of the UK’s Americana Music Association told Pollstar, when interviewed for a UK Americana feature earlier this year.
The expansion is inspired by the success of C2C in London, where it launched in 2013, and has developed into a three-day festival at the O2 Arena, attracting some 50,000 visitors.
In 2015, C2C expanded to the 3Arena Dublin (Ireland), the Ericsson Globe Stockholm (Sweden), and the Spektrum Oslo (Norway), with two events under the C2C banner also taking place in Glasgow’s SEC (Scotland).
C2C Sweden and Norway returned for one year, albeit with a reduced line-up compared to the other offshoots, and were scrapped this year. Glasgow on the other hand has become a firm part of C2C’s UK editions, all of which take part March 8-10 next year.
Aside from Keith Urban, the three C2C UK events also welcome Lady Antebellum and Chris Stapleton as headliners.
