Independent ticketing powerhouse Eventbrite has appointed Deborah Sharkey as Chief Commercial Officer and Crystal Valentine as Chief Data Strategy Officer, the company announced Nov. 20. The positions have been newly created for the appointees.
Deborah Sharkey comes up from ten years in various management roles at eBay, including a stint as COO at DogVacay, the pet services marketplace acquired by Rover in 2017.
Crystal Valentine comes from the position of VP of Technology Strategy at Amherst College. She has consulted with Fortune 500 companies to design and implement enterprise applications, has published many academic works, and holds a patent for “Extreme Virtual Memory.”
“The mid-market of live experiences is massive, and we are pursuing multiple opportunities to build continued scale, add new capabilities to our platform and expand into new countries and categories,” Julia Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite said in a statement. “Deborah and Crystal are two remarkably talented leaders who will play critical roles in accelerating our global business and helping to create long-term and sustainable growth and value at Eventbrite. I’m thrilled to welcome them to the team.”
Eventbrite Music was launched in North America and Australia earlier this month, signaling the winding down of the Ticketfly platform acquired by Eventbrite in 2017.
Eventbrite has continued to grow as a worldwide ticketing force in recent years and filed for an Initial Public Offering in August.
