Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Chris Martin Announced For One Love Malibu Fest Benefitting Woolsey Fire Victims

Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani and Chris Martin among other musicians have been announced for the One Love Malibu Festival, a Dec. 2 concert benefiting the Malibu Foundation, a nonprofit created to support the community of Malibu and surrounding areas in the aftermath of the devastating Woolsey Fire which began Nov. 8 and was announced as 100% contained only yesterday (Nov. 21).

Led by festival Music Director Linda Perry and Kerry Brown’s label We Are Hear, the concert will run from 1-8 p.m. at the One Love Ranch. Other announced performers include: Macy Gray,  Robin Thicke, Natasha Bedingfield, Brandi Carlile, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Angel Haze, Dorothy, Rita Wilson and more to be announced.

The Woolsey Fire, according to the Malibu Foundation, destroyed some 89% of the Santa Monica mountains, affected 97,000 acres, displaced 250,000 people
and destroyed 1,500 structures.

All proceeds and donations will benefit The Malibu Foundation and One Love Malibu’s relief efforts which, according to the organization, support those most in need, including “the uninsured, those living paycheck to paycheck with no resources, to help with animal refuge and care, to rebuild and regenerate Malibu and to support proper Wildfire Prevention and Land Stewardship initiatives” This in addition to supporting programs in other affected areas, including Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, West Hills and Calabasas.

Additional prominent figures and celebrities participating in One Love Malibu Festival include: Demi Moore, Pierce & Keely Brosnan, Johnny Galecki, Anjelica Huston, Cara Delevingne, Orlando Bloom, Chris Douridas, Laird Hamilton, Gabby Reece and Liberty Ross will also be involved in the festival.
 


The fund-raising event will also have a silent auction as well as a live auction by Christie’s, with items that include a motorcycle ride with Orlando Bloom, a Jony Ive specially designed Apple product, a Tierney Gearon photograph, Mr. Brainwash artwork, and items from Bamford Watch Department. Food at the festival will be provided by Nick Mathers’ Elephante, Nobu Malibu and Catch.


The Malibu Foundation was created and launched by members of the Malibu community including Miley Cyrus, the Happy Hippie Foundation, Liam Hemsworth, Evelin Weber, Alice Bamford, Ann Eysenring, Joe Flanigan, Rory Kennedy, Trevor Neilson and others.
