Ticketmaster’s artist services team has chosen ten acts to watch out for in the coming year in a list dubbed New For ’19.

The list includes Amber Mark, Dermot Kennedy, Easy Life, Freya Ridings, Grace Carter, Kojey Radical, L Devine, Millie Turner, Octavian and Slowthai.

The list was chosen by the artist services team after 12 months of working on hundreds of tour campaign. It takes in artists from across Ticketmaster International’s territories, North America not included, and across the musical spectrum.

Much of the list is made up of artists the artist services team have seen packing out grassroots venues over the last year, and who they believe are in a perfect position to take it to the next level and pull the crowds in 2019.

Jonathan West, director of Ticketmaster’s artist services team, told Pollstar, that choosing the final 10 artists for New For ’19 was “a pleasure and a challenge.

“We’ve been considering which acts for a number of months. The wealth of new talent currently coming through is exceptional, so it was not an easy decision but we are delighted with the final list of artists.

 

“The team all had suggestions and, ultimately, we worked with a long list of around 55 acts from every genre around the world.

 

“Ticket sales and pulling a live fanbase is one of the key indicators we looked at; for example Freya Ridings has already performed a headline show at London’s Roundhouse and Octavian played a packed out media showcase at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.

“But the intention was never to create a top ten sellers list. New For ’19 is about surfacing and supporting talent that we think is going to find a big audience in 2019.”
