Oregon’s Country Crossings Music Festival Canceled For 2019
IMG’s newly acquired
Willamette Country Music Concerts, the operator of both Country Crossings and the Willamette Country Music Festival, was acquired by IMG earlier this year.
An IMG spokesperson sent the following statement to Pollstar: “We are sorry to announce that the 2019 Country Crossings Music Festival will no longer be taking place. This was a difficult decision, but we ultimately determined that the festival team would not be able to deliver the quality experience our Country Crossings community expects of this event in 2019. We thank all our fans, artists and partners for their support.”
The Central Point, Ore., festival began in 2017 and hosted Chris Janson, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Brothers Osborne and Cole Swindell earlier this year, but the Mail Tribune reports that former president Anne Hankins did not properly pay vendors for the last edition.
Refunds are being made available to all ticketholders.
A representative for IMG confirmed that Anne Hankins’ was terminated for cause Oct. 15 after being suspended in late September.
At press time the Willamette Country Music Festival was still scheduled to take place in Brownsville, Ore., Aug. 15-18, though no lineup besides headliner Jason Aldean has been announced and tickets are not yet on sale.
