United Talent Agency announced the signing of comic Dennis Miller on Friday. Miller joins UTA’s robust roster, which includes other comics such as Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis.
Miller released his ninth standup special, Fake News, Real Jokes, earlier this month. He also remains a broadcasting force, recording his podcast The Dennis Miller Option twice weekly and debuting his twice-daily syndicated radio show The Miller Minute in February.
Previously, Miller gained notoriety for his tenure on Saturday Night Live and his Emmy-winning talk show Dennis Miller Live, which aired on HBO from 1994 to 2002.
Marc Gurvitz of Brillstein Entertainment Partners represents Miller.
UTA saw the comedy sector of its roster grow considerably in 2015 when multiple agents at the competing Creative Artists Agency defected to UTA, bringing clients including Ferrell and Galifianakis with them.
Outside of its comedy clients, UTA has had an eventful 2018. At mid-year, marquee client Post Malone had already grossed $22.4 million in 2018, bolstered by his April sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys and its No. 1 singles “Rockstar” and “Psycho.” Malone’s massive year netted him three nominations — Best Hip-Hop/R&B, Best New Headliner and Best Brand Partnership/Live Campaign — at the upcoming Pollstar Awards; his agent, UTA’s Cheryl Paglierani, received nominations for Bobby Brooks Award – Agent of the Year and Rising Star.
In August, UTA added Investcorp and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board as investors, and last month, senior music talent agents Steve Kaul, Tim Borror and Dave Shapiro parted ways with the company.
