Neko Case Announces Additional 2019 Tour Dates
As she continues to support her seventh album, June’s Hell-On, Neko Case announced a 2019 North American spring tour on Tuesday. The string of dates begins April 16 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, Nova Scotia and concludes May 10 at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri.
The new dates will feature support from Shannon Shaw and follow Case’s previously announced January and February North American shows. In March, she’ll head overseas for gigs in Australia and New Zealand.
Case’s 2019 itinerary will take her to many of the venues she played in support of her prior album, 2013’s The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You. Those include Montreal’s Corona Theater, where Case sold 440 tickets for a gross of $13,096 in May 2014, and Ottawa’s Bronson Centre, where she sold 652 tickets for a gross of $23,548 that same month. She’ll also play Detroit’s Majestic Theatre, where she sold 1,077 tickets for a gross of $29,918 in Feb. 2016.
Case toured extensively this year, including headlining shows and summer dates opening for Ray LaMontagne. In fact, she’s currently wrapping up her 2018 itinerary and will play four more shows this month, with Destroyer opening. Data from her initial Hell-On dates appears promising: In September, Case’s headlining gig at New York’s Beacon Theatre sold 2,374 tickets for a gross of $104,349.
