Live Nation named Kelly Flanigan as President of Washington DC – U.S. Concerts.
Live Nation Entertainment announced Tuesday the promotion of Kelly Flanigan to President of Washington DC – U.S. Concerts. In the expansive role, Flanigan, who has worked at Live Nation since 2006, will oversee Live Nation’s booking, marketing and operations in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
“Kelly has been key to Live Nation’s success in DC since joining the company over a decade ago, and her promotion to president of the DC region is very well-deserved,” Bob Roux, Live Nation Entertainment’s President of U.S. Concerts, wrote in a press release.
As the release notes, Flanigan worked as a talent buyer in the DC market prior to joining Live Nation. Over the last four years, she has doubled Live Nation’s show count in the region and has provided instrumental support for venues including Baltimore’s MECU Pavilion and the Theater at MGM National Harbor, in DC suburb Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Along with Flanigan’s promotion, Live Nation announced the elevation of Wilson Howard to Chief Operating Officer of Washington DC / Carolinas – U.S. Concerts, a role that encompasses long-term strategic planning for the region.
“By elevating Kelly and Wilson, we’re confident that Live Nation will continue to expand our business and our annual concerts throughout the region,” said Roux, who both executives will report to in their new roles. (Notably, Roux is nominated for two awards at the upcoming Pollstar Awards: The Lifer and The Unavailable Award.)
The promotions of Flanigan and Howard follow other recent Live Nation personnel changes, including yesterday’s naming of Brittany Flores and Neil Jacobsen as presidents of U.S. concerts in the Miami and Tampa / Orlando markets, respectively. In July, the company named Steve Ackles senior director of touring and Anna Plumley senior director of marketing.
