Electronic-focused manager Moe Shalizi has departed from Red Light Management after four years and is bringing numerous clients into his own Los Angeles-based company, The Shalizi Group.

The young manager’s clients include Marshmello, Jauz, Sikdope, Slushii,

“My 4 years at Red Light were nothing short of amazing and I am forever grateful for all that I learned from some of the best managers in the business,” Shalizi, who was named in Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list, said in a statement. “Coran Capshaw and Bruce Eskowitz have both been extremely supportive of my decision. I just got to a place where I had a vision that required me to go on my own in order to make it happen.”

The parting, first reported in Billboard last month, was apparently on amicable terms, as Red Light COO Bruce Eskowitz said in a statement: “We are proud of what we’ve accomplished with Moe and Marshmello. We congratulate him on his success, and we look forward to working with Moe on other projects in the future.  I wish him nothing but the best of luck. He is a great manager and person and I can’t say enough good things about him and what he’s done and going to do in the future.”

A former Pollstar Hotstar, Marshmello is Shalizi’s most prized client, as a news release boasts of the EDM star’s 2 billion-plus streams. His 2018 awards including an American Music Award and a MTV EMA Award for “Best Electronic Artist.” The artist can definitely sell tickets, having moved 9,000 tickets to a show at Festival Pier in Philadelphia May 12 for a $319,959 gross. He also sold out three nights at House of Blues Boston April 4-6 for 7,174 tickets reported and a $294,782 gross.

Red Light is a prominent management firm, representing the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Tiësto, Chris Stapleton and Phish. The company is also active in spawning other management companies, as Red Light Management partnered with Alicia Pruitt to launch Madfun Entertainment earlier this year. Last year founder and CEO Coran Capshaw was selected by City of Hope as the Spirit of Life Award honoree.
