Slacker rock God Mac DeMarco has loaded up his tour schedule with North American headline dates from coast to coast.

This week’s tour announcement follows his confirmed slots at Coachella and Bonnaroo, with new gigs scheduled in May and late September through early October. The routing includes some of his biggest headline shows yet, including a stop at the 8,500-capacity Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco May 18 and a return to the 9,525-capacity Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. He’s also thrown in an Aug. 6 stop at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell.
You never know what’s going to happen at a Mac DeMarco show. As a review from AsiaLive365 of his Aug. 1 show at Voice Space in Bangkok, Thailand, put it: “Languid getups, bucket hats and way too much beer – these are some of the things to be expected at a Mac DeMarco gig from both sides of the stage apron. What you can never expect is how the performance itself would turn out. There’s no point, really. As a non-connoisseur listener, the more you do your research, the more you know you don’t know anything.”

Box office reports submitted to Pollstar for DeMarco in 2018 include a sold-out Aug. 11 show at the 550-capacity The Independent in San Francisco (gross $21,725) and a Feb. 5 gig at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown, Australia, that sold 2,441 tickets (99 percent capacity) and grossed $143,543 (A$177,685).

Along with the new dates, the Canadian singer/songwriter announced he has a new album coming out this year, marking his debut release on his own label. More details are coming. His most recent LP, This Old Dog, was released in 2017.
