Nicole Carbone-Rogers Named Senior VP, Head Of Events At ASCAP
Performing Rights Organization ASCAP has named Nicole Carbone-Rogers as Senior VP and head of events, effective Feb. 11.
In the new position Carbone-Rogers will execute ASCAP’s awards shows and other events honoring songwriters, composers and music publisher members. She comes most recently from Pandora Media, Inc., where she was head of experiential marketing and live production and managed 75 annual events, conferences, and/or live experiences.
“ASCAP Award Shows and other key events are an important part of ASCAP’s overall brand and member engagement strategy,” ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews said in a statement. “Nicole has an outstanding track record producing unique and stellar events in the music and media sectors that honor talent and excite guests.”
She has also worked at Billboard and Prometheus Global Media.
The most prominent ASCAP story of 2018 was the passage ofthe Music Modernization Act, which contained broad reforms of U.S. music copyright and royalty payments, and was signed into law by President Donald Trump in October.
Matthews said at the time of the MMA’s passage by the Senate in September: “Today’s unanimous passage of the Music Modernization Act in the Senate represents a Herculean industry-wide effort to promote and celebrate songwriters and ensure their right to a sustainable livelihood. We applaud Senators Hatch, Alexander, Grassley, Feinstein, Whitehouse, Coons and the entire Senate for recognizing the value music has in both society and our hearts.”
