United Talent Agency announced Tuesday that it now represents Queen Latifah in her numerous endeavors, which span music, film, TV, publishing and entrepreneurial ventures.
According to a press release, Shakim Compere, Latifah’s partner at her Flavor Unit Entertainment production company, will continue to represent the star.
Latifah’s last album was 2009’s Persona, which capped a two-decade music career where she released seven albums. But she has remained an entertainment force, following buzzy Hollywood roles in films including 2002’s Chicago and 2007’s Hairspray with a full-blown transition into the world of TV and film.
In recent years, Latifah has starred in the comedy Girls Trip and the Fox’s musical drama Star.
Latifah’s signing to UTA comes just days after the agency linked with another prominent — albeit far different — figure. On Monday, former Ohio governor and 2016 presidential candidate John Kasich partnered with UTA.
