Khalid Confirmed For Pollstar Live! Q&A
–
Grammy-nominated R&B phenom Khalid will participate in a Q&A with manager and Right Hand Music Group founder Courtney Stewart at this year’s Pollstar Live! conference (Feb. 11-13) in Los Angeles.
The keynote case study Q&A, titled “How To Build A Superstar” and scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 13, will examine the 20-year-old musician’s meteoric rise and Stewart’s role in his trajectory as manager.
Since 2016, Khalid has appeared on 18 songs that reached Billboard‘s Hot 100, including three that cracked the top 10. His debut album, 2017’s American Teen, was certified double platinum, and he was nominated for five Grammys, including Best New Artist, at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
Khalid has also proven a formidable force on the road, claiming a spot on Pollstar‘s Year End Top 200 North American Tours with a gross of $8.9 million in 2018. His 2018 tour included a sold-out gig at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, with 5,960 tickets sold for a gross of $487,441.
Khalid joins an impressive slate of music industry professionals and artists scheduled to speak at this year’s Pollstar Live! conference. Last week, a panel titled “Voting In Concert: How Promoters, Artists, and You Can Make Political & Social Change” was announced, featuring My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, PLUS1 founder and CEO Marika Shaw, HeadCount co-founder Andy Bernstein, C3 Presents’ Margaret Galton and #iVoted & Collective Entertainment’s Emily White.
Other Pollstar Live! speakers include The Messina Touring Group’s Louis Messina, Live Nation Entertainment’s Arthur Fogel, William Morris Endeavor’s Greg Oswald, Ticketmaster’s Kathryn Frederick, Artist Growth’s Matt Urmy, Paradigm’s Marty Diamond, Nederlander’s Alex Hodges, Live Nation’s Bob Roux, Kevin Lyman Group’s Kevin Lyman, CID Entertainment’s Dan Berkowitz, WME’s Tony Goldring, Live Nation’s John Reid and C3 Presents’ Leca Guimarães.
Pollstar Live!, the live industry’s premiere conference and awards, will take place Feb. 11-13 at the Beverley Hilton in Los Angeles. The first day of the three-day conference is dedicated to Production Live!, which this year features programming led by production legend Jake Berry (who worked on tours by U2, Rolling Stones and Beyoncé to AC/DC, Madonna and Motley Crue among others).
