Music-focused finance firm Sound Royalties announced today it has opened a location in Nashville and the company CEO/founder Alex Heiche will work out of Music City full time.
“Nashville isn’t just the country music capital, it is the music capital of the world. Beyond those who already live here, creatives from all genres of music travel here to play shows, record music, and collaborate with other artists,” Heiche said in a statement. “It’s important to us that we establish a dedicated space in Nashville, to enhance our commitment to the community and its music professionals.”
The company will engage music professionals and educate them about “creative-friendly financing services,” which a release says allows musicians to retain copyright and receive overflow income. The company claims its core business offering is royalty advances ranging from $5,000 to $10 million.
The new office is in Nashville’s The Gulch neighborhood, the third location after South Florida and Los Angeles. The space will host events independently and other music organizations.
Sound Royalties, like so many other elements of the music industry, will be a major upheaval after the passage of the Music Modernization Act last year.
