null – Forecastle 2019
Forecastle Festival announced the lineup for its 17th annual edition on Monday. The Killers, The Avett Brothers and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals will top the festival’s bill when it returns to Louisville, Ky.’s Waterfront Park from July 12 to 14.
Other lineup highlights include Portugal. The Man, Judah & The Lion, Highly Suspect, Chromeo, Maggie Rogers, Playboi Carti, Midland, Moon Taxi, Nelly, Lauv, Tyler Childers, CHVRCHES, First Aid Kit and Andrew Bird.
After a banner 2018 that featured headlining performances at Bonnaroo, Panorama, Firefly and more, The Killers’ Forecastle booking represents their second announced headlining appearance — and second announced concert, period — of 2019. In May, the beloved rockers will headline the inaugural Kaaboo in Arlington, Texas.
They’ll be joined on the Kaaboo bill by fellow Forecastle headliners The Avett Brothers. The folk-rockers’ prominent Forecastle booking is noteworthy: While they regularly headline more genre-oriented festivals — they’re set to top Sweetwater 420 and Mountain Jam this year, for instance — they rarely grab the top slot at general interest fests like Bonnaroo, where they’re slated to play this June.
Likewise, Anderson .Paak’s Forecastle booking is one of his highest-profile festival gigs to date. With his fusion of hip-hop and R&B, the musician enjoyed prominent, but not top, booking at festivals including Bonnaroo and Osheaga in 2018.
Forecastle offers several attractions beyond music. Attendees can purchase a Yacht Club ticket options, which allows access to the Mary M. Miller Steamboat, along with the bars and entertainment it hosts. The Forecastle Urban Bourbon Trail passport allows patrons special deals at certain bars and restaurants around Louisville, and the Forecastle Bourbon Lodge serves up several types of Kentucky bourbon within the festival grounds.
Tickets begin at $164.50 and go on sale February 13 at 10 a.m. ET. See the Forecastle poster below.
