Dates Added, 350K Tickets Sold Down Under For Elton John Farewell Tour

Ticket sales for the November 2019 to February 2020 Australian and New Zealand leg of Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road have bolted out of the box. 

Nine shows sold out in the first hour, leading Chugg Entertainment and AEG Presents to add nine more. Those dates include a fifth Sydney date at Qudos Bank Arena Jan. 14, a third Brisbane show at the Entertainment Centre Jan. 16 and a second in Auckland at Mt Smart Stadium Feb. 11.

This brings the tally to 26 Australian and five New Zealand dates, with more than 350,000 sold. This is John’s first national run for almost a decade. He has returned since, but targeted different cities each time. 

His last visit, Once In A Lifetime, played only regional cities he had visited before, and shifted 70,000. John’s farewell dates could become Chugg’s biggest tour. 

AC/DC sold 750,000 on the 2010 Black Ice run, and Robbie Williams peaked at 650,000 in 2015 on the Let Me Entertain You tour.
