AEG Presents’ All Points East festival in London’s Victoria Park has revealed its final headliner: Mumford & Sons. The band will headline APE on Saturday, June 1, and bring a host of friends and favorite live artists along with it under its Gentlemen of the Road event banner.
“Gentlemen of the Road is a vehicle through which we as a band get to do things that we love, our way. This includes releasing records, putting on our own shows, engaging with the community we find ourselves in, and figuring out together how to be good neighbours,” the band describes the GOTR brand on its website.
The artists joining Mumford & Sons for “GOTR x All Points East” include Leon Bridges, Dizzee Rascal, The Vaccines, Dermot Kennedy, this year’s BRIT Awards Critics Choice winner Sam Fender, Jade Bird, Gretta Ray and Dizzy.
The second edition of APE takes place in London’s Victoria Park over ten days, May 24-June 2. Two festival weekends are connected by four days of free midweek program and activities for the locals.
DF Concerts announced the next wave or acts to play the third edition of Glasgow city festival TRNSMT. It includes Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, BRIT Award winner George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon and Snow Patrol, who will grace the main stage on Glasgow Green, July 12-14.
TRNSMT festival director Geoff Ellis said: “TRNSMT has amazing fans who have played a huge part in making the festival one of the most popular events on the music calendar, so we’re thrilled to bring so many great acts to Glasgow for them, this July.
“From Main Stage heavy weights including Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon, and Snow Patrol to BRIT nominees Years & Years, Jess Glynne and Mabel, and great local talent such as The Snuts; we’ve put together three great days of music for the best audience in the world.”
The iconic Spanish Doctor Music Festival, which is nearing its long-awaited return to Valle d’Aneu in the Catalan Pyrenees for a one-off edition July 12-14, has also announce a lot of artists over the past weeks. The current lineup includes The Strokes, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Good The Bad and The Queen, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Mando Diao, Behemoth, Anathema, Opeth, Sabaton, King Crimson, Greta Van Fleet and more.
Standon Calling, which takes place in Hertfordshire July 25-28, just added comedians Russel Kane and Angela Barnes to its lineup, which on the musical side includes headliners Rag N Bone Man, Wolf Alice as well as Nile Rodgers & Chic.
Also confirmed are Echo & The Bunnymen, IDLES, Lewis Capaldi, Kate Nash, The Big Moon, Band Of Skulls, The Go! Team, The Joy Formidable, Sea Girls, Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile Disco, Warmduscher and many more.
Standon Calling festival director and founder Alex Trenchard said: “Comedy brings people together and that’s even truer at a multi-generational festival like Standon Calling. One of the highlights of Standon last year was crying my eyes out with laughter in the comedy tent with my 10-year-old son. It was a wonderful bonding experience and we are really looking forward to what is a massive 2019 comedy bill!”
