Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center Opens In-Arena Record Store

DJ/Producer Steve Aoki is making a special appearance at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., Wednesday to celebrate the opening of Amplified Records, which is being touted as the first in-arena record store in the world.

Located on the Bridge Level near Section 209, the shop will feature vinyl records of artists who have performed or are scheduled to take the stage at the venue. In addition to purchasing and listening to records, Amplified Records is also a spot to purchase tickets for upcoming events at the Golden 1 Center.
The venue is also home to the world’s first full-service studio in a professional sports arena. Aoki will meet with local community youth from the Sacramento LGBT Community Center at the Golden 1 Center’s studio March 6 ahead of tonight’s NBA game between the Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics. Aoki, who will be handing out a limited number of his new SVN Sound Neon 100 headphones, will perform during halftime.
The wireless headphones, which feature LED lighting effects in the ear cups, will be featured at Amplified Records’ listening stations.
Upcoming concerts at the venue include Chris Tomlin March 15, Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band March 16, Pink April 10, V101 Freestyle Throwback Jam April 12, Chayanne April 14, Ariana Grande May 3 and Carrie Underwood May 14.
Golden 1 Center was nominated for Arena of the Year at the Pollstar Awards, which honored the top achievers in the live entertainment industry in February. The venue ranked No. 42 on Pollstar’s 2018 Year End Worldwide Ticket Sales Top 200 Arenas Venues chart (coming in at No. 21 for U.S. venues) with 480,307 tickets sold. In 2017 Golden 1 Center hit No. 34 on the chart (No. 15 in the U.S.) with 473,165 tickets.
