Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian have been sharing clips of his “Sunday Service” performances on social media for more than a month and have announced one such performance will stage on the second weekend of Coachella.

“We were out in Palm Springs and they took us to a campground, because we were thinking about a little performance in Palm Springs. They had a mountain, he had a mountain waiting for us. He had a date waiting for us, and only one date that would mountain be available, Easter Sunday at Coachella,” West says in a video. “The confirmation was confirmed last night, the Sunday Service will be Easter Sunday at Coachella, 9 a.m.”

The Sunday Services performances include arrangements of West tunes with live musicians and a gospel choir, often all dressed in uniform white or black. The events have been staged in multiple locations, but the majority of them appear to have been held in West’s home town of Calabasas, Calif. According to The Cut, attendees at the invite-only events have included Diplo, Rick Rubin, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson, and DMX.

Goldenvoice’s Paul Tollett spoke to the Los Angeles Times earlier this year saying that West was planned as a headliner for this year’s Coachella but the organizers “weren’t able to pull off” the production ideas West had.

West hasn’t done a full headline tour since he canceled a large portion of his “Saint Pablo” run in 2016 after being hospitalized for stress and exhaustion. He sued insurance company Lloyd’s of London saying the company failed to pay out his insurance claims from the cancellation, and later settled the matter for an undisclosed amount

West also reportedly left the tent of Scooter Braun for day-to-day management last year, though the exact nature of that change was not fully clear, as West is still listed as Braun’s client on the SB Projects website and Braun discussed the split as being of a temporary nature at MIDEM.
