The Eagles – Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Deacon Frey and Joe Walsh – perform at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Oct. 29, 2017.
It will be welcome to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this September, as Eagles will hold court for two nights with full performances of its entire Hotel California album.
The Sept. 27-28 gigs mark the first time the band has performed the iconic 1976 release live in its entirety, as well as the band’s only North American shows of the year. The two-night stand will feature the lineup of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Deacon Frey and Vince Gill.
An American Express presale begins April 8 at 10 a.m. PDT and tickets go on sale to the general public April 12 at 10 a.m. PDT. VIP packages will also be available.
Besides the Vegas shows, Eagles have dates scheduled throughout Europe in May, June and July.
The band just wrapped a tour of New Zealand and Australia last month, with sold-out shows including a March 2 stop at Dunedin, N.Z.’s Forsyth Barr Stadium that grossed more than $6.6 million in one night.
An Uproxx review of the Eagles’ performance at United Center in Chicago last year said: “While I refuse to go as far as to say that the Eagles sound better without Glenn Frey — that would be pure sacrilege — they certainly went out of their way to compensate for his absence. The number of musicians onstage was enough at one point to make the E Street Band look like a power trio. … The star of the night, however, was Walsh, a slide guitar hero nearly without peer, and one of the most loveably goofy characters to ever make it out of the 1970s intact. It’s actually staggering the chasm that exists in the charisma-quotient between Walsh and Henley.”
Vince Gill also has solo shows booked this summer and is scheduled to play Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival Sept. 20-21 in Dallas.
