Powerhouse Australian promoter Frontier Touring has struck a deal with AEG Presents for a new strategic partnership that will unify their operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Frontier Touring will keep its name and will continue to be led by Michael Gudinski. The deal does not encompass Gudinski’s Mushroom Group companies beyond Frontier.

The partnership takes effect July 1.

“Frontier Touring and AEG Presents share a passion and commitment to delivering the best music experiences to artists and fans alike,” Jay Marciano, Chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, said in a statement. “Michael has built an incredibly respected organization with a proven track record of success and we are pleased that he chose to partner with us. We look forward to working closely with him and his talented team to further grow the Frontier Touring brand.”

Frontier Touring came it at No. 11 on Pollstar’s Q1 Top 50 Promoters chart. AEG Presents was No. 2.

This AEG deal comes just weeks after Gudinski mended fences with former colleague turned rival Michael Chugg, whose Chugg Entertainment tours will now co-promote with Frontier.

AEG Presents continues to make power moves as a promotional titan, rivaled in size only by Live Nation.

In February AEG Facilities and SMG announced their intention to form a new facility management entity called ASM Global, which would bring more than 300 facilities worldwide under one banner.
