Journey has announced details for a nine-date residency at Las Vegas’ The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in October. Tickets for the Oct. 9-26 run go on sale Friday.

The dates are scheduled to take place after the recently announced renovation of The Colosseum, being done in partnership with Live Nation this summer.

Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain, Steve Smith and singer Arnel Pineda have carried on the band’s legacy, which dates back to its formation as a jazz/rock outfit in the 1970s by former members of Santana.

And it remains a touring powerhouse. Journey last toured on a co-bill with Def Leppard playing stadiums and major arenas, selling out most and winding up with two sold-out shows at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., that moved 24,020 tickets and grossed $2,697,656, marking the most lucrative tour in the band’s history.

Over the past three years, Journey has averaged 11,943 tickets sold and gross of $998,331 per show. So do the math and, if you’re a Journey fan planning a Vegas visit in October, get on that presale for the shows on Oct. 9, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 23, 25 and 26 at the 4,298-capacity Colosseum.

American Express card members can purchase tickets beginning April 16 at 10 a.m. PDT though April 18 at 10 a.m. PDT. General ticket prices begin at $69, plus applicable tax and fees, and may be purchased online at Journey’s Ticketmaster site or in-person at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace box office. Since the group’s formation in 1973, the band has earned 19 top 40 singles and 25 Gold and Platinum albums and has sold nearly 100 million albums globally.  Their Greatest Hits album is certified 15 times-Platinum, bringing Journey into the elite club of Diamond-certified award holders.
