Conor Oberst now has a tour to go along with the surprise album he dropped in January. The indie folk singer/songwriter is headed to nearly a dozen North American venues in July, with main support from Joanna Sternberg.
Oberst unveiled his new album, Better Oblivion Community Center, with a performance on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The project, a collaboration with singer/songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, is Oberst’s first release since his 2017 solo LP, Salutations.
The tour’s setlist will feature songs from Oberst’s extensive catalog. His best known work includes music with the indie folk band Bright Eyes and the punk rock / post-hardcore band Desaparecidos.
The July routing starts with a free show at the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth, N.H., July 17. The outing is concentrated along the East Coast and in the Midwest.
A fan presale is ongoing and tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 19. Fans signed up for Oberst’s mailing list should check their email for details on the presale. Oberst is donating $1 from every ticket sold to The Florence Project, which provides direct legal and social services for detained adults and children under threat of deportation.
The most recent reports submitted to Pollstar’ for Oberst include some support dates with John Prine in November. His headline dates include an October 2017 show at The Fillmore in San Francisco that sold 1,032 tickets and grossed $27,864.
