Guitar god Eric Clapton announced three September concerts on Monday.

The rocker will take the stage at San Francisco’s Chase Center (Sept. 11), Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena (Sept. 13) and Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena (Sept. 14) in the run-up to the fifth Crossroads Guitar Festival, which was announced last month and descends on Dallas’ American Airlines Center on Sept. 20 and 21.

Clapton’s band for the dates will consist of Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Steve Gadd, and Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Katie Kissoon.

Though Chase Center has unveiled several bookings for its inaugural fall season, Clapton’s performance is the third announced concert at the venue, following Metallica (Sept. 6) and Dave Matthews Band (Sept. 10).

Clapton’s San Francisco and Las Vegas dates are his first shows in those metropolitan areas since March 2011, when he grossed $1.07 million at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. and $1.13 million at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Clapton most recently played Phoenix in March 2013, selling 13,222 tickets and grossing $902,448 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Clapton has scaled back his touring in recent years – in early 2018, the musician, now 74, shared that he has tinnitus – but remains a powerful live draw, securing a spot on Pollstar‘s Top 200 North American Tours the last two years and three of the last four.

That largely owes to the rooms Clapton plays and the money his fans will pay to see him. In 2018, Clapton’s total North American gross – $6.74 million – came from two October gigs at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where he sold a total of sold 30,496 tickets. In 2017, he grossed $21 million in just eight North American concerts spread between Madison Square Garden and Southern California’s Forum. (That year, Clapton also secured a spot on Pollstar’s Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours, with a gross of $23.4 million.)

Tickets for Clapton’s September concerts go on sale to the public on April 26 at 10 a.m. local time. For the Chase Center performance, Chase cardholders will have access to an exclusive presale that runs from April 23 at 10 a.m. PT to April 25 at 10 p.m. PT.
