Update:
CAA has confirmed that agent Kevin French has brought clients to the agency including Tame Impala, The Decemberists, The National, Sharon Van Etten, Julien Baker, Hamilton Leithauser, and others.
French will operate out of the company’s New York City office.

“I have always had tremendous respect for CAA’s music department, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the team. I’m confident that the company’s collaborative culture, diverse clients and colleagues, and entrepreneurial spirit will be a great fit for the next step in my career,” French said in a statement. Pollstar broke the story May 30 of French joining CAA after a 10-year stint with Paradigm.

It is not yet clear which clients will come with French to CAA. His roster over the years has also included The Decemberists, Guster, Langhorne Slim, Tennis, The Districts and Frightened Rabbit.

French signed with Paradigm in 2009, sending him to the company’s New York City office. Prior to that he was the owner of Bigshot Touring Artists, operating out of Portland, Ore.

French spoke to Pollstar earlier this year about landing a coveted Coachella headline slot for client Tame Impala.

“Coachella will be the launching pad for a busy 2019,” he said of the band’s plans. “Expect new music, and what I’m sure will be another exciting album campaign. I for one am definitely excited to see and hear what Tame comes up with next!”

Both Paradigm and CAA declined to comment for this story.
