Adult Swim Festival Heads To Banc Of California Stadium, Topped By Dethklok, Jamie XX
Adult Swim Festival announced the lineup for its second edition and a venue change on Tuesday.
The event will return to Los Angeles for two days this fall, but will move from ROW DTLA to Banc of California Stadium, which opened in April 2018.
Virtual death metal band Dethklok, electronic producer Jamie XX, rappers Vince Staples and Young Thug and Captain Murphy – the rapping alter ego of Steven Ellison, better known as beatsmith Flying Lotus – top the bill for the event, which is slated for November 15 and 16.
Other musical performers on the eclectic bill include Tierra Whack, Lil Nas X, Geto Boys, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Tim Hecker & the Konoyo Ensemble, Clipping., Cupcakke, DAWN, HEALTH and Speedy Ortiz.
And, once again, Adult Swim Festival features plenty of high-profile, non-musical programming, such as The Eric Andre Show Live!, a screening of previously unseen material from the fourth season of “Rick and Morty,” an “Intergalactic Power Summit” for “Robot Chicken” and a “10 Man Bunkhouse Stampede” for “Squidbillies.” The event also promises “exclusive talent appearances, panels, meet and greets, games and more.”
Last year’s inaugural Adult Swim Festival included performances by Flying Lotus, Run the Jewels, Neko Case, Big Freedia, Thundercat, Mastodon, Zola Jesus and more.
Tickets for the event begin at $49 plus fees for single-day tickets and $95 plus fees for two-day passes.
The festival is also offering a Micro-Prestige Pass, which offers a single-day premium experience, for $295 plus fees, and a Prestige Plus Pass, which offers a single-day premium plus experience, for $499 plus fees. Both options include a private Figueroa Club craft beer and cocktail bar, priority access for activations and a main stage viewing area, while the latter additionally offers an exclusive Adult Swim merch item, an Adult Swim garage sale gifting suite and two-hour dedicated open Gold Bar service.
