Kevin Gates announced a nationwide headline tour in support of his new album, I’m Him, set to arrive later this year. The “I’m Him” tour gets underway at Chicago’s Patio Theatre on Oct. 12 and continues across the U.S. with a final show at Seattle’s WaMu Theatre on Nov. 30.
“I’m him,” says Gates of the tour. “I’m going to take everyone that comes out to see me on a journey of everything that I’m Him is. It’s going to be a movie.”
Every ticket purchased online for Gates’ 2019 tour comes with a digital copy of the new album. Details on how to redeem the digital album will be emailed on album release day. Tickets will first be available through an artist presale beginning July 31 at 10 a.m. local time, and will be available to the general public on Aug. 2 at 10 am local time.
Gates has released a pair of summer hits, “Push It” and “Facts,” leading up to his hugely-anticipated album. Each track was delivered alongside companion visuals, which have racked up over 10 million views combined on the multi-platinum rap superstar’s official YouTube channel.
Despite recent legal challenges and incarceration, the Baton Rouge-raised MC hasn’t stopped delivering music to his fans. Gates’ double-platinum debut album Islah, released in January 2016, confirmed him as one of hip-hop’s newest stars and featured the breakout single “2 Phones,” which peaked at No. 17 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart; Gates subsequently released three mixtapes: 2016’s Murder For Hire 2, 2017’s By Any Means 2 and 2018’s Luca Brasi 3.
According to Pollstar Boxoffice data, Gates notched his highest-grossing headlining gross late last year, with an Oct. 20 gig at Landers Center in Southaven, Miss., where he sold 6,274 tickets and grossed $363,300. This fall, the rapper will return to multiple venues he headlined last October, including Dallas’ The Bomb Factory, where he sold 4,220 tickets and grossed $151,500, and Nashville’s Nashville Municipal Auditorium, where he sold 6,897 tickets and grossed $213,070.
