Superfly Adds Richard Gay As COO, Names Steve Feener Chief Projects Officer

Superfly has hired Richard Gay, most recently of 5Pack Entertainment and Viacom, as chief operating officer and has promoted 17-year Superfly veteran Steve Feener to chief projects officer.

Gay will oversee day-to-day operations for the live entertainment and experience company that co-founded Bonnaroo. Gay’s experience includes two decades of experience in media and entertainment, including at consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton, Viacmon and 5Pack Entertainment.

Feener as chief projects officer will manage project execution across all aspects of Superfly’s business, including owned and operated properties and client experiential activations. Feener has been with Superfly for 17 years, acting as executive producer of Bonnaroo and San Francisco’s Outside Lands.  
Superfly’s various roles in live event production include brand creation, large-scale event operation, creative production, talent programming, brand marketing and more. Superfly festivals include the comedy-heavy Cluster Fest in San Francisco as well as Grandoozy which launched last year in Denver but is not happening in 2019.
2019 marked Superfly’s last year of co-producing Bonnaroo, after the promoter sold the festival to Live Nation in 2015. However, AC Entertainment, the company’s partner in the Manchester Tenn., festival, will continue on with the world’s largest promoter.
