Oprah Winfrey will stage a nine-date U.S. arena tour in early 2020.
Oprah Winfrey announced a nine-date U.S. arena tour on Wednesday.
“Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus” will “bring a full-day wellness event” to cities across the country, where Winfrey will be joined by “high-profile guests.”
Presented by WW (Weight Watchers Reimagined) and produced by Live Nation, in conjunction with Women Nation, the tour begins Jan. 4 at BB&T Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and will hit venues for the first nine Saturdays of 2020 including Atlanta’s State Farm Arena (Jan. 25), Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (Feb. 8) and San Francisco’s Chase Center (Feb. 22), before concluding on March 7 at Denver’s Pepsi Center.
“What I know for sure is we can all come together to support a stronger, healthier, more abundant life – focused on what makes us feel energized, connected and empowered,” Winfrey said in a statement. “As I travel the country, my hope for this experience is to motivate others to let 2020 be the year of transformation and triumph – beginning first and foremost with what makes us well. This is the year to move forward, let’s make it happen in 2020!”
Stops will include interactive wellness programming, presentations by noteworthy guests and one-on-one conversations between Winfrey and “some of the biggest celebrities, headline-makers and game-changers.”
“For more than three decades, Oprah has used her unparalleled gift to empower audiences to live their healthiest and best lives,” said WW chief business development officer Amy Weinblum in a statement. “Creating energizing events and experiences with partners like Oprah and Live Nation is the next iteration of WW showing up to inspire community, making wellness accessible to all.”
Winfrey’s last tour, “Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend,” made several two-day weekend stops at arenas throughout the U.S in fall 2014. Highlights included a weekend at State Farm Arena that grossed $2.3 million and a weekend at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., that grossed $2.5 million, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
Notably, “Oprah’s 2020 Vision” is produced in conjunction with Women Nation, the Live Nation division dedicated to women-led and women-driven live events launched earlier this year.
“It is an honor to partner with Oprah and WW in bringing this one-of-a-kind tour to life in 2020,” said the division’s president and chief strategy officer Ali Harnell. “We look forward to sharing Oprah’s captivating message with the country as she motivates audiences to be the best versions of themselves in the new year.”
Harnell spoke with Pollstar upon her inclusion on the magazine’s inaugural Impact 50 list in May. “All my projects and initiatives will be focused on amplifying and elevating women, from research and implementation of best practices for creating equity for women in the workplace, advancing women’s leadership, and developing and producing female-led and female-driven content,” she said.
Tickets for Winfrey’s upcoming tour go on sale on Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. local time, following WW and American Express presales. Find the list of dates below.
