Primavera Sound’s London edition planned for 2020 reportedly isn’t happening.
According to a report by IQ Magazine, the Spanish festival’s organizers won’t be able to pull off the event next year.
As Pollstar had reported in July, the festival’s organizers planned to promote the U.K. edition of the famous Spanish festival in cooperation with Broadwick Live, which recently took over a new site in North London, called Meridian Water.
The plan had been to merge Field Day into the U.K. edition of Primavera Sound.
“Festival bookers have been submitting offers for 2020 throughout this summer, though these have now been withdrawn and it communicated to agents that Primavera London is not happening,” according to IQ.
Field Day founder Tom Baker, who subsequently stepped down to focus on his company Eat Your Own Ears, wasn’t available for comment, as were the organizers of Primavera Sound.
Insiders believe the event will still launch in the English capital at some point, just not in 2020.
