Cirque du Soleil will premiere its first European resident show at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in November 2020, co-produced with Live Nation.
It will be an entirely new Cirque du Soleil show, produced and designed in Berlin itself. Not many details about its content are available.
According to a Live Nation press release, “this creation is inspired by Berlin itself and its cultural history while keeping the essence of Cirque du Soleil front and center.”
Tickets will go on sale end of November 2019.
As part of the deal, Live Nation becomes the operator of the 1,748-capacity theater, succeeding Stage Entertainment. Live Nation signed a long-term contract with the landlord of Theater am Potsdamer Platz, the Canadian real estate investor Brookfields.
