Alabama-based Big Spring Entertainment has acquired the 800-cap Druid City Music Hall in Tuscaloosa. The company has also hired Brian Beckerman to oversee venue management and Cameron Moss as a talent buyer.
Druid City Music Hall is located next to the University of Alabama, and is scheduled to host performances from Big Wild and Frank Foster in the coming weeks. Last year Moon Taxi reported two nights at the venue with 1,310 tickets sold and $35,964 grossed. Cody Jinks sold 800 tickets there in 2017 for a $19,550 gross and Turnpike Troubadours earned $19,080 on 750 tickets in 2018.
“We are extremely excited to announce the addition of this venue to the Big Spring family. Tuscaloosa is a vibrant community and our aim is to create life-long memories for music fans, and a premier experience for the artists,” Big Spring founder Bill Propst said in a statement.
“Brian brings a wealth of touring and artist management experience to the team. He will make a great addition to the team with his ‘artist-first’ perspective,” Propst said of Beckerman, adding of Moss, “We are thrilled to bring Cameron’s 15 years of experience in ticketing, marketing shows, and producing festivals to the team.”
