Toffer Christensen’s T Presents Joins Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment
– JGEE
Jay Goldberg Events and Entertainment and T Presents have formed a strategic partnership that will bring T Presents founder Toffer Christensen to the JGEE team, forming a formidable independent promoter in the Midwest and beyond.
Among JGEE venues are the Canopy Club & Blackbird in Urbana, Ill., Kenny’s and the Riverfront in Peoria, Ill., and the Rust Belt in the Quad Cities. T Presents will continue to promote shows nationwide in partnership with JGEE.
“Joining up with JGEE is a great fit for my company,” Christensen says in a statement.. “It provides a great marketing and backend infrastructure so that I can concentrate more time on buying shows and less time on the other intricacies of running a company.”
“We are excited to bring T Presents under the JGEE umbrella,” adds JGEE President Ian Goldberg. “Working with another independent promoter who understands markets of varying sizes will be a great addition to our company. By taking a leading roll with our buying team, I am confident we can deliver more shows to the markets we currently serve, and position ourselves for expansion into other markets. We are excited to be able to grow together.”
Christensen founded T Presents eight years ago and bookes and promoters more than 100 club and theater shows annually across the U.S. and Canada. It’s also a partner and producer of Camp John Waters.
He has served as talent buyer for the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wis., and VP of Entertainment at Blue Note Entertainment in New York City, where he booked HIghLine Ballroom, Blue Note New York and Howard Theater.
JGEE, founded in 1971, has presented some of the top names in music including the Eagles, Elton John, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith and more in the Central Illinois market. Among its properties are Summer Camp Music Festival, Peoria Blues and Heritage Festival. In 2013, JGEE expanded into southwest Florida and continues to step into new markets.
