The House Of Blues Music Forward Foundation’s Board Of Directors has added Emily Simonitsch, Live Nation SVP of Talent, U.S. concerts,  and Patti-Anne Tarlton, chairwoman of Ticketmaster Canada and EVP of venues and promoters for North America, to its ranks.
The two join Live Nation’s Ron Bension, Michael Grozier, Eric Lassen, and Kathy Willard on the board, which oversees the nonprofit’s efforts to help young people from diverse backgrounds explore careers in the music industry with artist development, educational and mentoring programs.
“I want to motivate young people generally and women of all ages to reach for influential positions across the music industry,” Tarlton said in a statement. “Music Forward is dedicated to serving youth, providing leadership and vocational skills that become a bridge to success for the next generation of industry leaders—which must include diversity of backgrounds, experiences and be representative of the communities we work in. I couldn’t be more excited to join the board for this exceptional organization.”
Simonitsch added: “I am so pleased to join Music Forward’s board of directors.”
“The nonprofit’s focus on expanding inclusivity within all facets of music is an important goal, and I look forward to helping champion a more diverse industry.”
Last month the Music Forward Foundation hosted its All Access Fest in House of Blues and Fillmore venues across the U.S.
Prior to that the MFF launched its Artist Ambassadors council in August, which included Carlos Santana, Khalid, Martina McBride, Lauren Daigle, and Umphrey’s McGee.
Music Forward Foundation scholarship recipients were announced in July, awarding a total of $40,000 in scholarships to four students.
