In the beginning of 2018, after more than half a century on the road, Sir Elton John announced his farewell from the live stage. And what a Farewell it is: More than 300 dates played over the course of three years. John isn’t just one of the top-selling solo artists of all time in the live space but also in terms of recorded music – with 38 gold records and 31 platinum and multi-platinum albums, over 50 Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 300 million records worldwide.
The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” is currently in Australia, where it will remain until March 7, including six stops in New Zealand. It will continue in North America starting March 28, touring the United States for most of the year, before returning to Europe in September, including 24 dates in the U.K. alone.
U.K. promoter Barrie Marshall told Pollstar working with John is an honor, adding, “As the tour title suggests ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ ensures that he brings joy to as many fans as he possibly can, before he takes a step back to enjoy life with his family.”
