Denver’s noted independent room Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox will be exclusively booked by Live Nation, effective immediately.

“Ophelia’s is one of the coolest and most unique venues of its size in America,” Live Nation Colorado President Eric Pirritt said in a statement.

A 400-capacity restaurant, bar and live music venue owned by Edible Beats, Ophelia’s features a sunken stage and showcases Edible Beats’ unique approach for sustainably sourced food.

A show from Emilie Brandt at Ophelia’s last year grossed $2,730 on 246 tickets.

Denver is a critical live music market in the U.S. as it is the regional home of the nation’s most popular outdoor venue, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Clubs and theatres in the market see lots of traffic, but the market has been notoriously difficult for festivals, with Superfly most recently declaring a hiatus for its Grandoozy festival.

Live Nation acquired Summit Music Hall in 2018, but subsequently closed it for renovations and upgrades over the summer.

After more than a decade of searching for the “perfect location and the right design,” AEG Presents Rocky Mountains CEO Chuck Morris finally oversaw the completion of his dream Denver venue, the Mission Ballroom last year.
