Alanis Morissette announced a summer 2020 shed tour on Monday in honor of the 25th anniversary of her seminal third album, 1995’s Jagged Little Pill.
The bill for the 31-date tour, produced by Live Nation, will be rounded out with fellow ’90s alt-rock luminaries Garbage and Liz Phair.
Morissette’s trek begins at Portland’s Sunlight Supply Amphitheater on June 2, 2020, and concludes nearly two months later at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on July 25, 2020. Along the way, Morissette will hit markets from coast to coast, including Dallas, Toronto and Chicago.
Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill tour isn’t the only way the beloved album, which is 16 times platinum certified and won the Grammy for Album of the Year, is receiving its due as it nears its silver anniversary. This Friday, a Broadway adaptation of the album officially opens at New York’s Broadhurst Theatre; tonight, Morissette will deliver a one-night-only acoustic performance of Jagged Little Pill at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.
News of the tour – where, a press release notes, “she’ll be playing all her biggest hits” – comes as Morissette gears up to release her ninth album, Such Pretty Forks In The Road, on May 1.
Judging by recent Pollstar Boxoffice data, Morissette remains a strong live draw. Highlights from her 2018 tour include a sold-out Sept. 6 date at Filene Center At Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va., where she moved 6,966 tickets and grossed $391,070, and an Oct. 20 gig at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., where she sold 7,030 tickets and grossed $444,150.
Garbage and Phair, meanwhile, also continue to attract robust crowds. In 2017, Garbage’s co-headlining tour with Blondie secured a spot on Pollstar’s Year End Top 200 North American Tours chart, with a gross of $5.2 million. Recent box office highlights for Phair include a sold-out shows at Brooklyn Steel, where she moved 1,800 tickets and grossed $54,000 on Oct. 6, 2018, and at Temperance Tap Room in Evanston, Ill., where she sold 2,217 tickets and grossed $77,600 on June 22, 2019.
Tickets for Morissette’s upcoming tour go on sale to the general public on Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. local time. Find her 2020 dates below.
