Pennsylvania jam haven Peach Music Festival announced the lineup for its 2020 edition on Friday.
The bill for the event, scheduled to take place at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Penn., July 2-5, 2020, features a predictably robust blend of rock, jam, funk and reggae, topped by the reunited Oysterhead, The String Cheese Incident and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. The latter’s performance will feature Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge.
Other artists scheduled for Peach in 2020 include Rebulution, Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Oteil & Friends, Twiddle, Turkuaz (joined by Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew for a 40th anniversary celebration of Talking Heads’ Remain In Light), Tower of Power, Billy Strings, Steel Pulse, The Allman Betts Band and Keller Williams.
Oysterhead may be Peach’s most noteworthy 2020 booking. The supertrio, comprised of Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Primus’ Les Claypool and The Police’s Stewart Copeland, last performed in 2006. In October, Oysterhead announced two reunion shows at Colorado’s 1stBank Center in February, as well as a headlining performance at Atlanta’s SweetWater 420 Fest in April.
Launched in 2012 by Live Nation and The Allman Brothers Band, Peach has become a staple of both the festival landscape and the jam scene. The four-day event grossed $2.1 million in 2018, the last year for which data is available, with a lineup topped by Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band, Gov’t Mule and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.
In 2019, Phil Lesh & Friends, Trey Anastasio Band, The String Cheese Incident and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead topped the bill.
“We’re always going to tip the cap to the Allman Brothers,” Live Nation vice president of marketing and talent buyer Dave Niedbalski told Pollstar sister publication VenuesNow in a 2018 deep dive about the event. “We’re a jam band festival with a southern rock sensibility. My goal is to book as many bands as people are interested in and give them an opportunity to experience live music.”
Peach’s first tier of Early Bird passes, priced at $99 for four days, have already sold out, but the second tier, priced at $149 for four days, is on sale now. See the event’s full lineup below.
