Festicket Appoints Former Eventbrite Director Ed Walsh

Joined Festicket as strategic commercial director

Festicket announced the appointment of ex-Eventbrite music account director Ed Walsh, who joins the London-based company as strategic commercial director. 

For Festicket, the appointment marks another step into the primary ticketing market. Already offering festival discovery and the option to book tickets in combination with travel-packages, as well as cashless b2b solutions, Festicket sees itself on track to offering a a complete 360-degree product set.
Walsh spent over two years as Eventbrite’s music account director, a role that saw him developed the overarching music accounts strategy at the company. He also gained insights into the live events business in previous roles at NVS Music Group, Broadwick Live and Mainstage Travel.
Walsh said he thought Festicket’s business model had the potential to be “a game changer in the ticketing space and I really want to be part of helping the team fulfil that potential.”
He describe the new role as “a natural fit for my skill set and experience. Having previously worked on the promoter side of the industry, I feel I have a unique outlook that I can bring to the business.”
Addressing the recent Event Genuis acquisition, which also included Ticket Arena, the consumer facing event marketplace of the Event Genius platform, Walsh said: “When I learned about the acquisition I thought it was a bold move. There is certainly room for disruption in the ticketing sector at the moment, and the product we have here is ready to lead that.”
