Rod Wave Plans To Spread ‘Ghetto Gospel’

Rod Wave has been making a splash on the recorded music charts over the past several months, and now the rapper has lined up an extensive tour in March.

The tour runs from March 3 in August, Ga., to April 3 in St. Petersburg, Fla., hitting major markets throughout the regional South and Northeast and stopping in Los Angeles and Chicago. Tickets are on sale now.

Rod Wave dropped the Ghetto Gospel album Nov. 1, logging an impressive 36 million on-demand streams, getting him to the No. 31 spot on the Elite 100 Artists chart for the week ending Nov. 7. Wave has remained a regular on the Elite 100 Artists chart since that week, coming in at No. 20 for the week ending Jan. 3, with 46.1 million on-demand streams.

Rod Wave signed to MAC Agency last month, and the agency owner Andrew Lieber told Pollstar he believes Wave will be 2020’s artist of the year. Lieber was intimately involved in the rise of Juice WRLD in 2018 and currently represents DaBaby, who had a breakout year in 2019.

Lieber was recently named to Pollstar’s inaugural Impact: NextGen list, and his agency also signed Polo G last year.

Wave performed at Rolling Loud Music Festival in Miami Gardens, Fla., last year and played a headline show at Club Skye in Tampa Sept. 20. He is also scheduled to open for Lil Baby at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., Jan. 23.
