My Chemical Romance Tour Sells Out In 6 Hours, ‘Fourth And Final’ Forum Date Added
My Chemical Romance‘s much-anticipated reunion tour, which was just announced Wednesday, sold out 228,600 tickets in less than six hours, according to the band, with three additional dates added to the Forum near Los Angeles.
“230K tickets in 1 day. Still in shock,” Paradigm’s Matt Galle, agent for the band, told Pollstar via email. “My Chemical Romance is larger than ever. Their fans have been waiting nine years to see them. I thought shows would go fast and then we would have some markets that are slower than others and need work. But, nope they all went just as fast as the others. Nuts!”
Before the end of the day, the band had announced a “fourth and final” show at the Forum would go on sale Saturday at noon.

My Chemical Romance returned to the stage last month, at Los Angeles’ Shrine Exposition Hall on Dec. 20, for its first concert in more than seven years, with Galle telling Pollstar last month that there were more than 140,000 people in the queue hoping to snag tickets and that it grossed more than $1.3 million.
The emo legends were previously announced to be playing Australia, Japan and Europe from March to July, and as headliners for fall U.S. festivals including Chicago’s Riot Fest, Atlanta’s Midtown Festival and, although the rumored Coachella appearance didn’t end up happening, the Danny Wimmer Presents-produced Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Calif., which adds to a bill that already had two nights of Metallica headlining.

The obvious pent-up demand for the band, which officially broke up in 2013, caused frustration for some fans who couldn’t get tickets, and the band posted about resolving a glitch that had prevented fans in Canada from purchasing tickets to the Tacoma show.
