Neil Young To Live Stream Fireside Sessions, A ‘Down-Home’ Live Performance With ‘Lovely Wife’
–
The Live Audience: Neil Young’s Fireside Session “regulars.”
The news comes in the wake of Young and his band Crazy Horse postponing their arena tour amidst the coronavirus crisis. While no exact date was given for his Fireside Session on the Neil Young Archives site, he advises checking out the Neil Young Archive blog, the aptly named “NYA Times-Contrarian,” and the blog’s Hearse Theater Schedule for more information.
In the short note (below), the outspoken Young said he is “dropping Facebook very, very soon,” likely for social and political reasons.
In other news of Young’s political activism, Young performed Monday night at an online rally for U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, playing his 1972 hit “Heart of Gold.” My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and the Free Nationals also performed.
And in even more Neil Young news, the 74-year-old rock star wrote on the archive site that he will soon be releasing his lost 1975 album Homegrown.
Young’s Fireside Sessions Announcement:
“Because we are all at home and not venturing out, we will try to do a stream from my fireplace with my lovely wife filming.
“It will be a down-home production, a few songs, a little time together…We will soon be announcing the first one right here at NYA in the Times-Contrarian and on the Hearse Theater schedule, as well as social media except Facebook. As we have previously announced, we are dropping Facebook very, very soon, so if you rely on FB to contact us, prepare for a change.
See You Soon!
