Coachella Releasing Free Documentary On YouTube

You won’t see the giant Ferris wheel at Empire Polo Field for Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival until at least October this year, but organizers will be streaming a documentary on the festival’s 20-year history starting April 10.

The festival was originally scheduled to run April 10-12 and April 17-19, with Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine and Travis Scott as headliners. The new dates for the event are Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 16-18.

Coachella has historically been the highest-grossing annual festival in North America by a mile. It reported a gross of nearly $114.6 million on 250,000 tickets in 2017.

Goldenvoice also delayed Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival to Oct. 23-25. Stagecoach grossed nearly $25.4 million on 72,000 tickets in 2016.

Coachella promoter Goldenvoice announced the postponement of both festivals March 10 and said previous tickets would be honored and information regarding refunds would be provided.
