Highstream 420 Festival Benefits COVID-19 Efforts With Melissa Etheridge, Disco Biscuits, The Pharcyde & More

Cannabis enthusiasts may not be gathering en masse to celebrate 420 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic this year, but The Emerald Cup and National Cannabis Festival are teaming to bring the celebration to them with the Highstream 420 Festival April 20.

Headlined by Melissa Etheridge, Disco Biscuits, The Pharcyde and Chali 2na, the livestreamed online gathering will benefit COVID-19 charities including Live Nation’s Crew Nation, as well as Drug Policy Alliance and Americans for Safe Access.

The event is free via Nugs.TV, with donation buttons for recommended charities, and airs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. EDT.

In addition to musical performances, the schedule includes A Tribute To Charlotte Figi with parents of pediatric cannabis patients, a special 4/20 edition of “Great Moments in Weed History” with Abdullah Saeed and David Bienestock; Weed+Grub interviewing Laganfa Estranja, Ice Water Hash Workshop with Frenchy Cannoli, Berner & Friends, “Higher Education” with Kyle O’Quin from Portugal. The Man, cooking classes, cultivation workshops and more.

“We are very grateful to the artists lending their time to support this initiative and to our partners for the incredible content being prepared for our views,” said Caroline Phillips, Founder of the National Cannabis Festival, in a statement. “We’re excited to broadcast a diverse lineup of music, workshops, celebrity interviews and policy discussions while supporting three great charities on the HIGHEST of all holidays.”

Tim Blake, founder of The Emerald Cup, added, “April 20 is a very important date in the cannabis world, but unfortunately, we are unable to celebrate in person this year. This is why we are excited to host the 420 Highstream event, in partnership with the National Cannabis Festival.
