Nederlander, City National Grove Of Anaheim Launch Live Music, Culinary Block Party Series
After taking a successful test drive with the Virtual Kitchen Sync cooking class April 2, Nederlander Concerts and City National Grove of Anaheim are ramping up the virtual Block Party event by expanding it into a Tuesday “Grove Grooves” series including live music and continuing culinary-focused events on Thursdays.
Starting tomorrow, April 28 at 5 p.m. PDT, the first Grove Grooves” spotlighting local and emerging artists will bring Chris Stills & Friends to perform a live singer-songwriter set on Instagram. The following Tuesday, May 5, is a “Grove Groove” session with Zero 9:36, merging alt-rock and hop hop influences.

Singer-songwriter, guitarist, and actor Chris Stills is the son of Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Stephen Stills and French singer-songwriter, Veronique Sanson. He has toured the world performing and recording with renowned artists including Don Felder, Lucinda Williams, and Ryan Adams, among others. His songs have been featured in numerous movies and television, including the hit Showtime series, “Shameless”, and films like “American Hustle” and the Oscar-winning “I, Tonya.” His latest album, Don’t Be Afraid, received raved reviews, and reflects his multicultural influences.
Stills will be joined by Midlake frontman Eric Pulido, who debuted solo album To Each His Own last year under the name E.B. The Younger. Also joining the troupe is singer and guitarist David Ryan, who performs solo as well as with artists including John Mayer, Dave Matthews and Santana.
Tuesday, May 5, Grove Grooves hosts a live performance by alternative artist Zero 9:36. His debut EP, You Will Not Be Saved is available now on all streaming platforms. The alternative artist has amassed more than 10 million streams and collaborated with artists such as Tory Lanez, PnB Rock, and grandson with upcoming collaborations with Fever 333 and Hollywood Undead, among others.
Block Party was created to bring the community together for virtual music, food, and fun. The series continues every Tuesday and Thursday live at 5 p.m. for fans to enjoy at home amid the Covid-19 crisis. Thursdays are dedicated to food and drinks with cooking classes led by Chef Ramirez direct from City National Grove of Anaheim and exclusive events by Brewheim Brewery.
