Riot Fest Moves To 2021
Chicago’s Riot Fest has announced a move to 2021 with a first-wave lineup.
The lineup includes My Chemical Romance – which was the only act that had already been announced for 2021 – The Smashing Pumpkins, Run The Jewels, Pixies, Coheed And Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, Sublime With Rome, Dirty Heads, Lupe Fiasco (performing The Cool), Vic Mensa, Thrice, K. Flay, Toots And The Maytals, The All-American Rejects, New Found Glory, Circle Jerks and many more, with second and third-wave lineup announcements to come.
The new date is Sept. 17-19, 2021, but the location is still Douglas Park in Chicago and the ticketer is still Eventbrite. Tickets are on sale now and stubs already purchased for the 2020 event are still valid and now include admission to a bonus Thursday Preview Party which will include special sets, first dibs on merch and shorter lines to carnival rides. Ticket transfers are valid for the next 30 days. Refunds are available via Tixel, but only for original ticket purchasers who bought their ticket through Eventbrite.
The 16th edition of Riot Fest was originally scheduled to take place Sept. 11-13 this year, but like Coachella and Lollapalooza last week, the event is moving to 2021, effectively canceling its 2020 date.
