Live Nation Urban and LiveXLive have joined forces with racial justice organization Color of Change for a 90-minute special called “Lift Every Voice: A Juneteenth Special,” which will air June 19 commemorating African American freedom with performances. discussions and more.

The event will be hosted by Charlamagne Tha God ,with performers including including Justine Skye, Jonathan McReynolds, Mick Jenkins, Joy Oladokun, Common featuring Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins, Fantastic Negrito and discussions with Trae Tha Truth, Vic Mensa, Lion Babe, TI, Mereba, Leon Bridges and more.

Start time is 5 P.M. PT/8 P.M. ET streaming across LiveXLive digital platforms, which will be available at http://livexlive.com/juneteenth.

Streaming platform LiveXLive has become a big player in the space, hosting events including the “Live From Out There” series put on by 11E1even Group with artists including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Goose, Twiddle and Sunsquabi, as well as festivals including Summer Camp Music Festival.

The company, which has a history streaming festivals such as Bonnaroo and EDC Las Vegas with a subscription service offers both audio and video, made noise in February in acquiring Spring Awakening promoter React Presents.

Live Nation Urban produces various events and content platforms including the Roots Picnic, which just yesterday announced its virtual edition for 2020 is in partnership with Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote nonprofit. The former First Lady is even a co-host of the event.

Juneteenth commemorates June 18, 1865, when general Gordon Granger read federal orders in Galveston, Texas, that all previously enslaved people in Texas were free. The holiday has been recognized as a paid day off this year at companies including Nike, Twitter, Vox Media as well as LiveXLive.
